sink or swim...

Last week I bought a lb. of undyed merino roving at NW wools. It has sat, untouched in the bag, on my nightstand since then, purely because I have not had a moment to even think about starting to spin it. The end of the term is coming and I am realizing that this means a lot more work + preparing for finals. In addition to that I have started working a few extra shifts at the pool. Rargh. I have been thinking about moving into a tent in the backyard. I'm not really sure why, I feel like it would help me stay on top of things. I want to go back to the real woods! I don't like the city life!

Manly scarf!

ooooh manly. This scarf is blue but it looks more gray in the picture. It is cascade brand peruvian highland wool or something. The pattern is "Henry" from knitty, flipped sideways. I should really be writing the paper that is due tomorrow for my Writing 121 class but... this is so much more fun. The scarf is maybe 75% finished but I haven't worked on it in a week or two. I think I will try to finish it this week.

drop it drop it drop it like it's hot

Yesterday I almost missed the drop spindle class I signed up for at NorthWest Wools. I ended up working a little bit later than I thought I would and had to run there. I was 1 1/2 hours late, but I felt like I still learned a lot. I came home and spun and spun and spun and then plied the yarn I had spun. This morning I woke up and spun some more and I didn't drop the spindle once! I am wicked excited about maybe taking a spinning wheel spinning class next.

Mystery Blanket

My blanket! The squares are woven together. I keep knitting squares faster than I attach them and now there are squares hiding all over the house. I feel like if I really go searching and stick them together the blanket will be almost finished.

Baby sweater

Uh Oh! It's a little little baby sweater, for little baby arms and a little baby body and it's so tiny and it's so cuuute. I never knew my biological clock could tick so loudly.
